ICBA’s Community Banker University recognizes that today’s modern learners require their training experience to be multidimensional. Accordingly, the Leadership Academy training occurs in multiple delivery methods including live events, online coursework, and webinar series.

Leadership Academy participants are required to complete the following requirements in a 36-month period:

  • Attend and participate in the following live events:
    • One ICBA Capital Summit; and
    • Two LEAD FWD Summits
  • Complete a series of self-paced online coursework focused on technical banking skills, advocacy, personal development, and leadership development.

Live Events

ICBA Capital Summit

It is critical for community bank leaders to understand the importance of using their voices to make meaningful change in Washington. That’s why we incorporated the ICBA Capital Summit into the curriculum for the Leadership Academy.

The Washington Policy Summit gives leaders dedicated time to engage with members of the regulatory agencies and your Congressional representatives. Participants have several opportunities to network with fellow community bank leaders and gain access to a network of voices in which to influence change for your community bank and the industry.

During the Capital Summit, community bankers from around the nation will meet with their members of Congress and federal financial regulators to discuss key issues, hear firsthand from financial and policy leaders, and influence the policymaking process. The Washington Policy Summit is the perfect add to the dynamic Leadership Academy curriculum.

The Capital Summit is hosted by ICBA each April in Washington D.C. The registration fee to the Capital Summit is complimentary at this time. Each banker is responsible for his or her travel, accommodations and personal expenses to Washington D.C.

Participants must attend one ICBA Capital Summit within 36-months from enrolling in the Leadership Academy. For more information click the Enroll button below.

LEAD FWD Summit

The flagship event of the Leadership Academy is the LEAD FWD Summit. This event is focused on moving the community banking industry forward. The LEAD FWD Summit brings together the country’s brightest minds to learn, network, and push the traditional boundaries of the industry forward.

The Summit focuses on moving the community banking industry forward with fast-paced workshops, new collaboration challenges, dynamic whiteboarding sessions with experts, bold keynote speakers, and more! We break down the customary barriers of an exhibit hall and offer participants opportunities to collaborate with modern solutions.

This self-paced online curriculum is designed specifically to provide technical and personal development tools and skills needed to advance your career as a leader.
