Fed’s Barr stepping down as vice chair for supervision

The Federal Reserve announced that Michael Barr will step down from his position as vice chair for supervision on Feb. 28.

Details: Barr’s term as vice chair for supervision was slated to run until 2026. Barr will continue to serve as a Fed governor, with that term scheduled to run into 2032.

Regulatory Outlook: The Fed said its board does not intend to take up any major rulemakings until a vice chair for supervision successor is confirmed.
