Next Generation of Community Bankers Celebrated in ICBA's 40 Under 40 Listing

Washington, D.C. (June 3, 2024) — Independent Banker magazine, the award-winning monthly publication of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), announced its sixth annual list of 40 Under 40: Community Bank Leaders. The award recognizes community bank innovators, contributors and influencers who continue to step up, stand out and power local communities through community banking excellence.

"ICBA is thrilled to celebrate this year's honorees, who exemplify the ideals of community banking and represent the future of our industry,” ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey said. “These individuals are not only dedicated to their customers and communities, but they also bring innovative ideas and a passion for service that will drive the industry forward. We are proud to recognize their achievements and look forward to their continued impact and success.”

The feature story in the June issue of Independent Banker highlights how the 40 Under 40 honorees have navigated challenging market conditions, leveraging their local expertise and sound business practices to enhance the customer experience and foster economic resilience within their communities.

Candidates were judged on character, leadership, community involvement, and innovation. The article organizes the winners into the following community banking categories: hi-tech heroes, enthusiastic collaborators, thoughtful educators, community supporters, innovative strategists, and trusted advisors. Bank technology services provider FIS, of Jacksonville, Fla., sponsored this year’s program.
