ICBA is encouraging Florida community bankers to respond to the Florida Bankers Association’s request for phone calls opposing state legislation to expand the powers of tax-exempt credit unions.

Bill Details: House Bill 611—introduced by Rep. Adam Botana and slated to be heard on the state House floor today—would permit Florida credit unions to accept the state’s public deposits.

Call to Action: A message from the Florida Bankers Association cites a recent study on Florida credit unions’ tax advantage, notes the negative impact of the bill on community banks, and urges Florida community bankers to contact their House members in opposition.
