The FDIC launched a national campaign to increase the public’s awareness of deposit insurance and how it can protect people’s money in the event of a bank failure.

Target Audience: Amid confusion and misinformation about deposit insurance, the FDIC said its “Know Your Risk. Protect Your Money.” campaign aims to reach those who:

  • Might have lower confidence in the U.S. banking system or who are unbanked.

  • Use mobile payment systems, alternative banking services, and financial products that may appear to be FDIC-insured but are not.

Campaign Details: The campaign consists of digital display ads, including web banners, as well as search engine marketing and sponsored social media that connect consumers to deposit insurance information and resources on the FDIC’s website. The digital campaign will run through November and will resume in January 2024 for tax season.

ICBA National Campaign: ICBA this year launched its ICBA National Campaign to differentiate community banks from other financial institutions and to educate consumers on the benefits of banking locally.
