Federal regulators announced 2022 updates to key regulatory thresholds.
Mortgage Loans: The threshold for exempting loans from special appraisal requirements for higher-priced mortgage loans will increase from $27,200 to $28,500, effective Jan. 1.
Consumer Transactions: Truth in Lending Act and the Consumer Leasing Act protections generally will apply to consumer credit and lease transactions of $61,000 or less in 2022.
Background: The thresholds are based on the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index as of June 1.
