Did You Know?

  • Did you know a banker’s profile and training history is based on their email address? Some banks use an email address naming convention that may cause an email address to be used for multiple people over time. This practice has the potential to cause issues with ICBA Online Course training records. Here’s an example:

    • John Smith started working for ABC Bank in March 2021 and his assigned email address was [email protected]. In April 2023 John left ABC Bank to start learning his father’s construction business to one day take over. John was enrolled in several ICBA online courses over his two years at ABC Bank and completed most of them, but not all. In June 2024, Jacklyn Smith was hired at ABC Bank and was assigned an email address of [email protected]. When Jacklyn logged into her ICBA online courses she saw a few courses in her Current Enrollments as well as her Completed Courses tab. She was seeing John’s courses.

If your bank “re-uses” email addresses and you have a new employee using an “old” email address, before setting them up through Roster Management, please give ICBA Education a call. We will get the new employee set up and adjust the old employee’s records so that the new employee has fresh training records.
