Online Training Newsletter – March 2022

March 28, 2022

Introduction

Dear LMS Admins,

I would venture to guess that nearly every one of you have talked with Cathy VonWhalde here at Community Banker University at least once since subscribing to our online training. Some of you may talk to her monthly 😊. I am excited, proud, and saddened to share the news that after 31 years with ICBA, Cathy has decided to live the good life and retire on May 2, 2022.

I cannot begin to share how fortunate ICBA has been to have Cathy’s positive attitude and strong work ethic over these many years. I hope you agree that the superior customer service she provides to our members has truly been above and beyond. She will be greatly missed. For those of you that know Cathy well, please feel free to shoot her a farewell message over the next month ([email protected]) or give her a call at 320-352-7337. I am sure she would love to hear from you.

We did have a hunch this was coming and have been searching for the perfect person to fill Cathy’s shoes once she shuts down her computer for the last time. I’d like to introduce you to Lori Braegelmann. Lori is not new to ICBA but may be a name you are not familiar with. Lori has worked in the IT Department at ICBA for the past 21 years.

She comes to Community Banker University with a wealth of knowledge of how our Online Training Center operates and has worked closely with our LMS provider over the years. Lori is excited for her new role, especially working with all of you to provide the best customer service and help you with all your online training needs. Lori will begin training April 4. Please read next month’s newsletter for Lori’s contact information.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me as well. As always, we thank you for being a valued subscriber to our online training and are excited for what the future holds.

Sincerely,
Mandy Snyder
VP, Online Training, Compliance & Products

What’s New

  • The course Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act was updated with new content on March 4, 2022.

  • The following new courses were added to the Information Security catalog on March 23, 2022:

    • Colorado Consumer Data Privacy Legislation

    • Virginia Consumer Data Privacy Legislation

These states, along with California have adopted very specific state policies in which a new/separate course was warranted. As data privacy continues to be a hot topic and other states adopt their own policies, we will evaluate the necessity for additional courses.

What’s Coming

  • We are in the process of creating new courses related to the E-Sign Act requirements and the Bank Protection Act.
