Most community bank training programs follow the calendar year, so if you have not completed your annual regulatory training requirements, there are only four months left to do so. Specific regulations that require annual training for bank employees are:
ICBA Community Banker University Online Training has all the courses you need to cover these requirements and so much more. There are nine new BSA courses available for administrators to choose from based on the employee’s role within the bank. There are two new Regulation CC courses for both those who require a general overview of the regulation and those who need a comprehensive review. There are nine new bank security courses that cover robbery and physical bank security. Our Red Flags Identity Theft Prevention Program addresses requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Primer on Privacy covers information security guidelines.
Fair Lending, the SAFE Act and a few other topics are not listed above because by law these regulations do not specify annual training requirements. Training in these areas is not presently mandated, however when assessing a bank for compliance risk, examiners do scrutinize bank training programs to ensure that staff at all levels understand compliance risk issues and policies and procedures. For recommendations on courses based on job function, view the Mandatory and Recommended Course Listing in the Administration tab within the Online Training System.
Attention Standard Plan, Custom Plan, and Bank Compliance Bundle subscribers. Your subscriptions to the Online Training Center expire on Sept. 30, 2018.
You or a main contact within your bank should have received an invoice via email allowing you to renew your subscription for another year (invoices can be paid online or printed out and returned to the address specified on the form by mail).

We’ve listened to your feedback and beginning Oct. 1, subscribers will have the ability to enroll multiple employees into multiple courses simultaneously. We’ve also enhanced the Online Training Center’s reporting functionalities making it easier than ever for you to track and monitor employee training.
Subscribers to the Standard and Custom Plans can look forward to five new RESPA courses, 14 new Regulation Z courses, two mortgage servicing courses, and three introduction to compliance courses.
We will be adding new courses throughout the 2018-2019 subscription year in addition to updating existing courses. Premium and Cloud Delivery subscribers will have access to all new courses.
Compliance Bundle subscribers can also expect new courses and updated content as part of the 55 courses they receive in their compliance bundle. For only $200 more per year, Compliance Bundle subscribers can upgrade to the Standard Plan and gain access to more than 300 online courses. Contact ICBA for more information.
On Aug. 3, ICBA initiated a system upgrade. As a result, there are now two ways a new employee/user can be added to the Online Training Center system. Now a new learner can set up his or her account or a designated employee at your bank can set up an account for another employee. Please refer to pages 12 and 13 of the Administrator's Guide for updated information.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments regarding the great improvements we are making, please contact a Community Banker University team member at 800-422-7285 or [email protected].
