Check Rules & Regulations

Oct 17, 2024 | 11:00 am ET • 10:00 am CT | Webinar

Each payment network has its own set of rules and regulations, and the check network is no exception. Regulation CC and the Uniform Commercial Code Article 3 and Article 4 pertain to all checks. However, the clearing path dictates which rules apply.

Are you bound by Regulation J and Operating Circular 3 or by private sector rules? Knowing this is key to understanding how to handle issues that inevitably arise when processing checks. Gain an overview of the various rules and regulations check participants encounter in daily processing.

For an in-depth discussion of check exceptions, register for the Check Returns & Adjustments webinar on November 6th.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand check rules and regulations.
  • Learn how the clearing path determines rules set applicability.
