Comment Letter on CFPB’s Proposed Changes to Regulation V

ICBA submitted comments to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on its proposed rulemaking regarding Protecting Americans from Harmful Data Broker Practices (Regulation V).

ICBA noted concerns with several parts of the proposed rule, specifically the expanded definitions of Consumer Reporting Agency and “consumer reports,” but said it supports several proposed revisions such as limitations on the permissible uses of consumer reports, which would effectively ban "trigger leads."
