René Shonerd is ICBA's Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In this role, she provides leadership and vision for ICBA’s technology strategy, overseeing the development and implementation of innovative solutions that enhance the association’s IT infrastructure, data governance, and security. She ensures that ICBA’s technology operations are scalable, efficient, and aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
Shonerd brings more than 20 years of experience in association technology and digital transformation to ICBA. She began her career in IT leadership roles at various trade associations, gaining deep expertise in aligning technology with business processes and driving organizational success.
Over the past seven years, René served as a consultant, specializing in IT assessments, strategy development, business process optimization, and data governance for associations. Her work also focused on supporting multi-entity organizations with subsidiary for-profit entities, a key aspect of ICBA’s structure.
Shonerd holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kent State University and a Master of Education from the University of Toledo. She has been a Certified Association Executive for 20 years and holds a certificate in data and business intelligence.
