Deborah Scanlon is the regional industry leader for BKD National Financial Services Group in BKD’s South Region. She has more than 29 years of experience providing audit and consulting services to a variety of financial institutions, collective investment and common trust funds, mutual funds, broker-dealers, and investment advisory firms.
In addition to providing audit and attestation services to financial services companies, her experience includes assistance with mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, regulatory compliance functions, accounting standard implementations, Sarbanes-Oxley and FDICIA internal control structure designs, implementations, and reviews, and developing internal audit programs and systems. Debbie educates boards and audit committees related to fiduciary responsibilities and trains financial accounting personnel and management teams in many types of financial organizations.
Debbie serves on the Texas Finance Commission, which is a Governor-appointed position. In addition, she serves on the AICPA Investment Companies Expert Panel and the BKD Governing Board.
Debbie is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, with a B.S. degree in accounting.
