Daniel Kurz

Deputy Special Agent

Mr. Kurz serves as the Deputy Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal Investigative Division at the United States Secret Service. Currently Mr. Kurz leads teams in cyber operations, digital forensics, cyber threat intelligence and field technology support.

Previously Mr. Kurz served as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAIC) in the Intelligence Division where he was responsible for the Protective Intelligence Operations Center processing and investigating all Secret Service threats throughout the globe. Mr. Kurz also served as the ASAIC of the Baltimore Field Office responsible for investigative and protective operations in the State of Maryland. Prior to his assignment in Baltimore, he was the ASAIC in the Office of Investigations Policy and Special Projects Section; Developing, implementing and managing policy and special initiatives for over 2,300 special agents and 650 administrative, professional and technical employees throughout 162 domestic and international field offices.

During his career, Mr. Kurz has risen through the ranks, having begun his Secret Service career as a special agent in the Washington Field Office. He has since served in numerous assignments including the Presidential Protective Division and Dignitary Protective Division.

Mr. Kurz’s law enforcement career began in 1997 where he worked for the Arlington County Virginia Police Department.

Mr. Kurz’s holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Virginia Tech and attended the Key Executive Leadership Program at American University.
