We wrapped up our second to last week at ICBA with exciting and fulfilling activities. On Wednesday, we had our Senior Leader Lunch with Alex Galeano.
On Thursday, we had our fun HR Outing, where we learned to play pickleball at Kraken Courts. We also spent the week preparing for our Final Presentation, and we can't wait for everyone to see it!
We have all been reflecting on our time here this summer, and it has been such an incredible experience for us all. We are all super grateful for the community we have formed and the things we have learned throughout our time here at ICBA.
This week's senior leader lunch was with Alex Galeano, SEVP, Chief Finance and Administrative Officer. He spoke to us about his career path and the most impactful pieces of advice he has been given, and it was a very inspirational conversation. His passion for mission-driven organizations and his goals of supporting those around him were major takeaways, and we all enjoyed our conversation and delicious lunch.
Overall, the Senior Leadership Lunches have been inspirational and motivational as we prepare to enter the workforce after college. Everyone we have met with have had such interesting things to say and have been very open about their experiences. We want
to thank those who took time out of their busy schedules to meet with us this summer.
Attending Kraken Kourts this week to play pickleball was a fun break in our schedules. We have all gotten to know each other well this summer, and so it was fun to have an experience outside of the office environment to learn and practice a sport. It was many of our interns and managers' first time playing, so it felt extra unique and very educational!
Thank you to Humaira for organizing this event, we had such a blast!
About Me:
My name is Thomas Whitley, and I am from Prince Georges, County Maryland. I graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School and currently transferred to Columbia College. I am going into my senior year studying Business Administration.
What has most surprised you so far / what is one thing you have learned thus far?
I will say what surprised me was the true community feel of the company. Having so many departments, I thought that each one would stay to themselves, but it was cool to see how they all come together for the greater good. One thing I learned while working at ICBA is the importance of community. ICBA runs like a well-oiled machine and the communication and collaboration between departments is a major reason why.
We have officially finished our Intern Spotlights! We have celebrated our educational paths and personal stories, embracing the events and learnings of ICBA along the way. We appreciate ICBA for valuing connectedness among our team and across the organization. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to get to know our six interns this summer!
