Last week, we began our internship program here at ICBA. Starting a new position is an exciting time, but it comes with unique challenges that we must face together. The first week is critical, where we learn, work, and create with others for the first time.

As an intern team, we have varying experiences in the professional world, with some who are stepping into the corporate workplace for their first time. We have already begun to use our different backgrounds and interests to create a strong community together and within ICBA. We are all excited to band together and navigate this new experience.

Onboarding was an exciting start. We were able to set up our laptops and were given important lessons on how to browse the intranet, Teams, and other features of the company. These new lessons have provided us with a launch pad for future projects and skill building opportunities.

We were given a tour of the office, where we marveled at the office’s expansive and organized layout. We ate a delicious lunch and introduced ourselves to our ICBA managers and seniors. It was inspiring meeting so many members of ICBA’s staff from all parts of the company, and it has been a motivating factor in our creation of a collaborative environment during our first week.

As we embark on this exciting journey as a group of 6 interns, we look forward to sharing our experiences with you as we navigate through this process. We hope we can share a glimpse into the challenges and achievements that we will experience this summer!

The interns welcomed Rebeca Romero Rainey for our first senior leader lunch. Meeting with her was inspirational and provided a view of the dedication and hard work that she has put towards this company. She emphasized purposeful and empowering communication, within both ICBA and the entire banking industry. We learned so much about the industry and about the goals of the company in a short amount of time! Thank you, Rebeca!
