President Donald Trump nominated Jelena McWilliams for chairman of the FDIC. McWilliams is vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary for Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati. She was formerly chief counsel and deputy staff director with the Senate Banking Committee and an attorney at the Federal Reserve Board.
In a statement, ICBA congratulated McWilliams on her nomination. “ICBA urges the Senate to promptly confirm McWilliams and looks forward to working with her to help alleviate crushing regulatory burden,” ICBA Chairman Scott Heitkamp and ICBA President and CEO Cam Fine said in a joint statement.
