Online: Affirmative Action/EEO Manager & Supervisor Training
With increased frequency and gravity of OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs) audits, increasing employee-filed lawsuits and ill-equipped management, affirmative action training is an organizational requirement.
Covered contractors are required to conduct periodic meetings with executives, management, and supervisory personnel to explain the intent of the Affirmative Action/EEO policy, the CEO's commitment, and individual responsibilities for effective implementation. All personnel involved in the recruitment, screening, selection, promotion, disciplinary, and related processes shall be trained to ensure that the commitments in the company's Affirmative Action Program are implemented. (41 CFR 60)
Advanced management preparation goes far beyond reading an organization's affirmative action policy. It must provide the relevant and practical information management needs, engage the learner with cases, and gauge participant knowledge through a proficiency exam. This course does just all that. Affirmative action is often misunderstood. This can cause many legal problems and potential audit citations/fines with the OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs). It is critical that management has a greater awareness of the do's and don'ts of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity.
In this course, we will: o Present an overview of OFCCP regulations regarding affirmative action.
- o Identify the myths and facts concerning affirmative action
- o Review cases so that management understands their designation of responsibility under the Company AAP.
- o Provide a brief overview of reasonable accommodation and the interactive process
- o Review penalties for non-compliance
