Habitat for Humanity

Sunday, March 10
7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

ICBA is encouraging all members to help empower those in need by spending the day with Las Vegas Habitat for Humanity. Founded on the conviction that “every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build with people in need regardless of race or religion.” Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas builds simple, decent, affordable homes for working families in their community. They believe in giving families a hand-up, not a hand-out. Not only does purchasing a home from Habitat benefit a family financially, it also provides a permanent, safe place for them to live and grow. They have built 78 homes from 1991 to current and housed 261 people of which 170 were children under the age of 18.

We invite all ICBA attendees to join together in partnership with local families to help construct homes for families in need.

The homes built are sold to families in need at no-profit with no-interest loans. The families complete a “sweat equity” requirement in addition to paying for their homes, working side-by-side with sponsors and volunteers to help build their own home and other Las Vegas Habitat homes. Additionally, the families complete 60 hours of classroom work, plus homework, training to be good homeowners and learning financial management skills. At the end of the day, ICBA volunteers will present a check to Las Vegas Habitat representatives.

Space is limited so please sign up early to be part of this important and impactful project. Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be provided. Please note that volunteers must be at least 16 years old and must wear closed toe shoes. No construction skills are necessary since on-site training is provided.

You may register for Habitat for Humanity as part of your online registration or you may fax in this form.
