Just reading the audit requirements in Appendix Eight of the ACH Rules can be mind-boggling! According to the OCC 2006-39 Bulletin issued on ACH Risk Management Guidance, "The Rules Audit, however, is only one element of an effective ACH audit program and is not a substitute for a comprehensive, risk-based audit." The scope of the ACH Audit should be expanded to include additional areas to review that are not included in Appendix Eight of the ACH Rules. These additional areas that can result in monetary loss and exposure include but are not limited to:
- Compliance with 31 C.F.R. Part 210 and the Green Book for processing Federal Government ACH Transactions
- Reclamations and Death Notification Entries
- Review of Regulation E Statement Disclosure Requirements
- Review of Regulation D as it relates to non-transaction accounts and the ACH network
Join us on Oct. 31st to gain a better understanding of how to prepare for your annual audit. Attendees will leave this session with an understanding of sound business practices to help your financial institution achieve a fully compliant ACH Audit, and a checklist of documentation that auditors may require to complete the annual audit.
